The Basics
The Henry House provides transitional and sober living for men and women who suffer from mental health issues, are recovering from substance abuse or struggling with domestic violence and the homelessness that often results from these conditions. Located in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage, HH residents can enjoy both the dramatic Alaskan landscape and big city amenities.
Accommodations and Amenities
The accommodations at HH are a secure apartment-like complex—residents require a key for entrance. Clients share their room with one other person in this large facility with 130 beds in total; men and women are housed in separate units. Each room has two twin beds, two dressers and two bedside tables. There is 24-hour surveillance, home-cooked meals from a community kitchen, medication management services, on-site laundry facilities and once a month there are haircut and beard trim services provided.
Rules and Regulations
HH is strictly just a housing unit for those in need and does not have rules or regulations aside from no alcohol or drugs. However, many residents are placed at HH through an agency or program that will set specific rules for that individual during their stay. HH staff remain in contact with the outside organizations and will oversee resident behavior and aid in making sure they meet all requirements.

For those in need of a temporary home where they can get back up on their feet, HH is a good place to start. In the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, the 130-bed secure apartment facility may be a bare-bones transitional home, but it is an affordable choice for the newly sober without credit or who may be unable to pass a general background check for traditional housing.
