Healthcare Living for Families Review
Healthcare Living for Families is an outpatient facility that provides individualized treatment for adolescent, adults and families. The substance abuse programs include group and individual therapy, psychoeducation and medication management for clients with co-occurring disorder. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone is available for clients struggling with an opiate addiction. This facility, which has two locations in the Baltimore suburbs of Windsor Mill and Catonsville, Maryland, offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard outpatient care.
Treatment and Staff
New clients undergo an assessment so that they can be placed into the proper program. The PHP, IOP and outpatient tracks offer flexible day and evening hours. Treatment aims to address issues common with addiction; like trauma abuse and relapse. Each program is tailored to the needs of the individual.
Group sessions are co-ed and offer a specialized focus, like coping skills, anger management, relapse prevention, HIV education and overall health practices. While this facility employs a Harm Reduction Model, it also offers an introduction to the 12 steps and helps clients get connected to the local AA/NA community. Though each program varies, clients who are not placed in the IOP or the PHP typically attend two group sessions a week, eventually stepping-down to one a week. There is no time limit to any of the programs.
Staff is comprised of MDs, LCSWs, LPCs and CSC, under the a guidance of a medical director.
Extras
Breathalyzers and/or urine analysis tests are performed regularly at this facility. There are also aftercare services offered. Home or school-based outreach programs, as well as referral services, are also available. Couples and family counseling are offered on an standalone basis.
