Health Affiliates Maine Review
Health Affiliates Maine was founded in 2010 by a united group of counselors and social workers aiming to provide affordable mental health and substance abuse treatment services. HAM provides services from multiple clinical offices throughout the state of Maine, with a strong network of resources and professionals. HAM offers evidence-based outpatient substance abuse treatment services for both individuals and their families.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse treatment program at HAM is highly individualized, offering services via appointments following an initial diagnostic assessment and evaluation which helps to determine the most beneficial schedule for treatment. Individual and family counseling is scheduled between client and counselor and implements both CBT and DBT methodologies throughout treatment. Group therapy are scheduled frequently throughout the week and clients may attend as often as they wish.
Group topics include relapse prevention, coping skills, aftercare planning, treatment for co-occurring disorders and self-esteem building. The 12 steps are not integrated into the program, however clients are encouraged to attend meetings outside of the program. The length of the treatment is determined by the progress of each client.
The staff at HAM consists of CADCs, LPCs, LCSWs and LADCs.
Extras
In addition to substance abuse treatment services, HAM also offers a variety of other services to clients and the broader community including psychiatric assessments, therapy services, mental health counseling and case management services.
Educational classes and seminars are also available for clients and their family members as well as the community on a variety of topics related to addiction and chemical dependency.
