Healing Life’s Pains Counseling Services Review
Healing Life’s Pains Counseling Services is a private practice priding itself on being a support system for individuals as they find their own path to recovery through treatment. HLPCS is located in Denver, Colorado, and offers an outpatient substance abuse treatment program as well as a variety of other counseling services. Treatment is evidence based, utilizing traditional talk therapy.
Treatment and Staff
The program for substance abuse treatment at HLPCS is exclusively outpatient and places a strong emphasis on education. An initial assessment helps the counselor to develop an individualized treatment plan that determines the frequency and type of therapy for each client. Most clients see the counselor for individual sessions at least twice a week, while attendance of the group sessions (available three times a week) is encouraged at least once a week. Education is integrated into all the CBT-based therapies and incorporates topics such as the nature of chemical dependency, relapse prevention, understanding the root of the individual’s addiction through psychoanalysis, anger management and coping skills. The 12-steps are not a part of the program. Random urine testing and breathalyzers are administered throughout treatment as well.
The staff at HLPCS consists of a CAC II.
Extras
Beyond a substance abuse treatment program, HLPCS also offers individual counseling and therapy for mental health disorders as well as a DUI class. The DUI class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays—either in the mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm or in the evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There is also DUI offender information for those who are not offenders to help clients understand the consequences they may face in the event of infraction.
