The Haven Detox Center Review
Located 60 miles south of Seattle in the state capitol of Olympia, Washington, The Haven Detox Center provides short-term inpatient detox as well as outpatient substance abuse programs for adults. A brand new facility, The Haven was established in mid-2015.
Accommodations and Food
The accommodations at The Haven are stylish and comfortable. While there are 14 places available, the number of clients is usually kept to nine or 10. All have private rooms, with men and women separated across the two sides of the building. Each room is furnished with a full-size bed, closet and 46-inch TV. The common area also contains a large TV with X-Box and cozy couches.
A gourmet Chef prepares all meals, and a wide range of snacks are available at all times. Food is tasty and nutritious, appropriate for the client’s individual dietary plan.
Treatment and Staff
Exclusively a detox facility, clients remain for up to 14 days. A staff of doctors and registered nurses provide medically based treatment, including medication management. A psychiatrist performs evaluations to determine the need for dual diagnosis support. If needed, clients are referred to other centers after detox is completed. This option is most suitable for clients with co-occurring disorders or for those needing intensive, long-term inpatient care.
As the detox process is physically taxing, there are few additional therapeutic activities offered. A CADC provides individual counseling and establishes a treatment plan, including goals, together with the client. This may include referrals for a long-term program, sober living or participation in the outpatient program at The Haven.
Outpatient consists of group therapy Monday through Friday, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Clients participate in this program for at least 30 and up to 90 days. A CADC facilitates all sessions, as well as weekly individual therapy. Groups focus on relapse prevention, life skills and managing emotions.
Extras
Nutritional counseling is provided, with each client receiving education as well as individualized dietary plans.

Medical monitoring is essential during detox and there is ample medical staff to ensure adequate and safe care. The outpatient program is $6,000 per month.
