Harbor Village Detox Review
Harbor Village Detox is a full range treatment facility for adults in Miami, Florida. It offers detox, residential treatment, outpatient programming and sober living for alcohol and drug addiction. Founded in 2013 by the Mesnick family, longtime addiction treatment supporters, Harbor Village is licensed and accredited by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare.
Accommodations and Food
Harbor Village offers clients luxurious amenities in a resort-style setting. Its detox facility can accommodate up to 40 adult clients and the residential program accommodates up to 80. Each bedroom is shared by two clients and features an en suite bathroom, flat screen TV and X-Box console with streaming services; however, there is no Internet access otherwise and clients are not permitted to use cell phone or personal electronic devices. A facility phone is available for use at certain times. Visitors are not allowed for clients in detox and permitted on a limited basis for residential clients. Meals are designed and catered off-site by a private chef and served buffet-style. Caffeine and sugar are allowed.
Treatment and Staff
The medical detox treatment is five to 10 days. When clients are stabilized, they can move into Harbor Village’s residential program that ranges from 30 to 90 days. Harbor Village crafts an individualized treatment plan that can include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and dual diagnosis support. Programming implements CBT, holistic practices and 12-step.
Days begins at 6 am with a morning meditation, breakfast and a group session. Throughout the morning and afternoon, clients attend individual and group therapy; in addition to having personal time for yoga, exercise and appointments with their medical team. Counselors work with clients to create an aftercare plan that includes outpatient care, relapse prevention techniques, professional and educational development.
Harbor Village’s outpatient program offers individual and group therapy to clients who wish to extend treatment after completing the residential program. Each group accommodates 10 to 15 clients. Length and frequency of treatment is based on the individual needs of the client. The sober living residence gives clients the opportunity to live independently within a structured environment.
Harbor Village’s 200 mixed-gender staff members include MDs, psychiatrists, LADCs, LMHCs, RNs and administrative and clinical support staff. The staff-to-client ratio is two-to-one.
Extras
Harbor Village has a full-service salon and a spa that includes massage and acupuncture. Yoga and meditation classes are available at Harbor Village’s gym and clients can take advantage of the campus’s outdoor recreational area. Other activities include movie and game nights.
