Treatment and Staff
Before actually beginning treatment clients have an assessment. It’s either in person, or over the phone or skype. During the assessment, a general practitioner performs a medical exam and psychological evaluation. From there, they implement a treatment plan.
Habitat Therapeutics offers on-site medical detox. The facility itself is registered as a private hospital. This is not a required step in order to receive treatment, though the staff highly encourages it in order to avoid experiencing any negative side effects of withdrawal.
The most common treatment track at Habitat Therapeutics is the 90 day program. It’s a personalized program to accommodate each client’s needs and has had the greatest success rate. There are daily group therapy sessions and one or two individual sessions each week. There are also several peer run activities and experiences, as the facility runs as a community. Though the 90-day program is preferable, the one and two month treatment tracks are also very effective. They offer the same tools and treatment in a shorter amount of time.
Programming uses evidence-based protocols, like CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more experiential options like art therapy. Clients address relapse prevention, learn coping skills and work on improving their communication and managing emotions. As individuals move through their program, they assess their progress with their primary therapist. They then work on an aftercare plan that can include the outpatient programming at Habitat Therapeutics.
The treatment team has over 40 years combined experience working with a wide array of addictions and mental illnesses. Clinical staff consists of senior drug and alcohol counselors, art therapists and licensed psychologists. In addition, all of the treatment staff members are also in long term recovery.
