Growth and Recovery Services Review
Growth and Recovery Services is an outpatient clinic located about 30 minutes east of Philadelphia in Marlton, New Jersey. Their services include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those addicted to opiates, as well as individual, family and group therapy sessions available at a low cost. There is also an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed specifically for those with co-occurring disorders. Treatment in IOP caters to adults with daytime obligations, offering group therapy sessions in the evenings.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at GRS begins with an assessment and those who are accepted are matched with female or male LADCs with whom they will meet with for individual therapy. These sessions are scheduled as needed and last anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes at a time. Those in need of MAT services are offered Suboxone treatment in an outpatient setting, along with therapy. Dual-diagnosis support is available through medication management and therapeutic services. Though there are no psychiatrists on-site, therapists can stay in touch with clients’ own psychiatrists to provide integrated care whenever applicable.
The IOP is an eight-week program that consists of group therapy sessions on a regular basis. Groups are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. All groups are co-ed with about 10 to 20 participants. Topics discussed include the disease of addiction, relapse prevention and coping skills. Treatment methods include evidence-based modalities like CBT and DBT. The 12-step principles are also integrated intro treatment through on-site meetings, though clients are also encouraged to attend community meetings on their own. Counselors can provide meeting directories upon request. Staff members at GRS include LADCs and LPCs.
Extras
Family programming is also available to those in IOP. Clients interested in inviting their family members to take part in individual therapy sessions must schedule these sessions with their primary counselor.
Family and couples counseling is also available at GRS. Family counseling sessions are led by a family therapist who addressing issues such as communication problems, parent-child conflicts, divorce, grief and defiant teens. Couples’ therapists are on-site to provide support to couples dealing with financial disagreements, trust issues and miscommunication.
