The Basics

Situated in the mid-city area of Los Angeles, adjacent to the border of Culver City and close to Santa Monica, Green Leaf Sober Living provides drug and alcohol free accommodations for adults in early recovery. Typically, most of its residents have just finished residential treatment. Founded in 2009 by Sandra Parker, Green Leaf Sober Living strives to foster holistic healing and provides clients the best opportunity for maintaining permanent sobriety. Green Leaf pledges to provide a safe, comfortable and affordable sober living environment, and to carry on the personalized care men and women received during their inpatient stay.

Accommodations and Amenities

Green Leaf facilitates a tailored approach with a plan of action created for each resident. That plan is utilized as a baseline for progress reports throughout their stay. Green Leaf housing offers a lot of amenities including an on-site washer and dryer, air conditioning, a communal computer and printer with WiFi, cable TV in every bedroom and a house phone with unlimited long distance calling.

Green Leaf offers a positive and fun sober environment. Each property boasts a spacious backyard equipped with a barbeque, basketball court, spa and a workout area with free weight and nautilus machines. Residents also enjoy regular outings to the beach. Clients are provided with health and wellness counseling as well as classes like nutrition education and cooking. Holistic wellness is also incorporated including yoga, meditation, art therapy and journaling. Clients benefit from life and career planning, and also receive financial assistance like monthly budgeting and long-term planning. In addition, residents are encouraged to volunteer at animal rescues and senior centers.

GreenLeaf understands that many clients need more than sober living to achieve sustainable long-term sobriety. To this end, the facility can provide medication management and make referrals for health professionals including dentists, psychiatrists, psychologists and physicians.

Rules and Regulations

Green Leaf requires all residents to take responsibility for their own sobriety. Random drug and alcohol testing is mandatory as well as weekly meetings with the residential manager. Clients are required to participate in weekly house meetings as well as regular 12-step groups held on site. Here, residents can openly interact with each other about the community as well as their own recovery. Weekly workshops focus on various themes including relapse prevention, life skills, anger management and conflict resolution. In addition, residents must complete daily household chores.

Extras

Green Leaf understands that family involvement is a key component to the success of a sustainable long-term recovery. To this end, the staff makes themselves available to each client’s family for status updates or questions.

Green Leaf provides a payment portal on the website.

Green Leaf Sober Living is an upscale sober living option for clients transitioning out of residential treatment programs and back into regular life.
