Greenhouse Outpatient Review
Greenhouse is a Dallas-area treatment facility that’s a member of the American Addiction Centers portfolio. AAC operates a number of CARF-accredited facilities in California, Nevada, Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi and is rapidly expanding. Greehouse’s residential facility is located in Grand Prairie in a former luxury spa. Its newer outpatient facility is located in nearby Arlington. Greenhouse provides outpatient treatment at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care.
Treatment and Staff
After an assessment, clients are placed on the PHP or IOP track and receive a customized treatment plan. PHP clients attend group and individual therapy three to seven days a week from six to eight hours a day. IOP clients attend group therapy three hours a day anywhere from three to seven days a week. IOP clients have individual therapy as-needed. PHP clients usually step-down to the IOP as they stabilize. The length of treatment varies, depending on client need and progress.
Greenhouse uses Motivational Interviewing (MI) and facilitated 12-step exploration in group therapy. Its created its own treatment curriculum, Embracing Change: Recovery for Life, which helps clients develop coping skills, create boundaries and handle triggers. Clients also attend a variety of lectures and psychoeducation classes that explore components of addiction.
The treatment team at Greenhouse includes LPCs, LCDCs and psychiatrists who provide treatment for co-occurring disorders, including medication management. Greenhouse also consults with primary care physicians to make sure clients are taking care of their physical health.
Extras
Family therapy is available for loved ones, and families who are not local can attend sessions via phone or Skype.
Greenhouse counselors do extensive aftercare planning with each client, which may include referrals to on-going individual therapy and developing a peer support meeting schedule.
Greehouse also connects clients to AAC’s robust alumni network, which hosts sober social events throughout the year.
