The Basics
Partnered with Beachway Therapy Center, The Grapevine House in Delray Beach, Florida is a four-house system dedicated to providing sober living services to recovering alcoholics and addicts. Residents are able live in safe, gender-specific housing that facilitates their transition back to independent living.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Grapevine House consists of four houses named Grapevine North, Grapevine West, Grapevine South and Grapevine East. Two houses are dedicated to men and the other two to women. Each has two bedrooms shared between two residents and outfitted with comfy twin beds and a bathroom. WiFi for Internet access and flat-screen TVs are provided for downtime and attending to work obligations and responsibilities. A large living room with plush couches and plenty of seating is available to clients to relax and socialize with other house members.
The kitchens have been updated with stylish decorations, brand-new appliances and breakfast bars. Plenty of storage for food is available and residents are able to make their own food on their own time. All the houses have backyard patios with comfortable seating and space to get some fresh air and sunshine. Residents are transported to meetings and group activities in a luxurious Mercedes van. The houses are close to the beach, the gym, shopping, houses of worship, 12-step meeting locations and beauty salons.
Rules and Regulations
No alcohol or drugs are permitted on property. In the event of relapse, clients are referred to a more intensive treatment option through Beachway. Residents are drug tested a couple of times a week to ensure abstinence from mood- and mind-altering substances. In addition, breathalyzer tests are administered if a client’s sobriety is in question.
During the initial weeks of residence, the curfew for residents is at 10 pm until they have a full-time job or volunteer position. When approved, the curfew is adjusted to 11 pm during the week and midnight on weekends. Clients are expected to secure proper employment, volunteer work or attend school within a couple weeks of enrollment. The Grapevine House transports residents to 12-step meetings every day where they are expected to find a home group and begin work with a sponsor. Clients have the choice of attending either AA or NA fellowships.
Residents must clean and maintain their own space. Clients are given responsibilities systematically, when the staff feels they are ready.
Extras
In addition to comfortable living, residents are able to address their deep-seated issues with addiction counseling services. Individual therapy, group therapy and family counseling are available to ensure long-term recovery and mental health. Since The Grapevine House is closely associated with Beachway, Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and outpatient programs are always accessible on request.
