Golden Triangle Recovery Center Review
Golden Triangle Recovery Center is an outpatient treatment program focused on helping those suffering with drug and alcohol abuse. The center was founded in 1995 and is located in Starkville, Mississippi, a quaint town five miles east of Mississippi University with 20,000 residents and a quiet, rural feel.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Golden Triangle begins with a $125 assessment that determines an individualized treatment plan. Those who need detox or inpatient care will be referred to a treatment facility that can best provide it. Golden Triangle requires clients to attend five hours a week of group therapy and one hour a week of individual therapy. Treatment at Golden Triangle has its roots in the 12 steps and CBT.
Staff at Golden Triangle is made up of four LCSWs for the four to eight clients enrolled, allowing for ample individual attention from the clinicians.
Extras
Aftercare is offered at Golden Triangle for two years after clients graduate from the program. Groups take place on Tuesdays at 11 am or 8:30 pm. Issues addressed include how to have fun without drugs and alcohol, deactivation of cravings and presenting the past to an employer.
A family program is also offered at Golden Triangle. Family therapy can be weekly or not at all (depending on the recommendation of the client’s individual therapist.) Family therapy is centered on educating loved ones about the disease of addiction and offering them emotional support.
