Since 1981, Glenbeigh Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers have been serving the communities of northeastern Ohio with high quality treatment. Located in Canton, Ohio, Glenbeigh Outpatient Center of Canton offers outpatient care rooted in the 12 steps. Services include assessments, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), a family program and continuing care. With a small staff-to-client ratio, clients are able to receive thorough amounts of individualized attention.
Treatment and Staff
Detox is not available at Glenbeigh Outpatient Center of Canton. Following an initial assessment, clients get individualized plans which can include IOP, family programs and continuing care.
The IOP meets four times a week for three-hour sessions. The program includes individual and group therapy. Hour-long individual sessions usually occur once a week. Topics covered during group include relapse prevention, emotional processing, introductions to the 12 steps and coping skills. Evidence based therapies such as CBT and DBT are woven into groups as well. Clients are required to attend a minimum of two 12-step meetings per week. They are also encouraged to obtain an AA or NA sponsor, though this is not required.
The family program offers clients and their loved ones a chance to learn more about each other in a safe environment. Sessions are offered on Tuesday during the day or on Thursday evenings. All family members are encouraged to attend one session a week with clients. Topics that may be covered include codependency, the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse and healthy boundaries.
Upon the completion of IOP, clients have access to two continuing care groups. Both meet on Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 am and from 6 to 7:30 pm. These groups give clients a chance to check in, update the group on their struggles and successes and focus on relapse prevention. The staff at Glenbeigh consists of LADCs. Group sizes range from five to 12 at a time.
Extras
Weekly open support groups are offered including open AA meetings on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm, open NA meetings on Tuesdays at 3 pm and a support group for family members on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 pm.

In all, Glenbeigh Outpatient Center of Canton uses evidence-based therapies and the 12 steps to tackle chemical dependency issues. Thanks to a wide variety of outpatient services, clients of all ages can find relief at this facility. While those in need of more intensive programs may need to look elsewhere, those in the area would do well by considering Glenbeigh.
