Genesis Behavioral Services Review
Genesis Behavioral Services (commonly referred as simply, Genesis) has multiple clinics throughout the state of Wisconsin. These facilities provide outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction and substance abuse, along with a multitude of other behavioral health services. Genesis emphasizes treating its clients with “professionalism, respect and compassion.” A division of Corizon Health, it has been serving residents of Wisconsin since 1973. Each outpatient clinic offers a full range of services using evidence-based and gender-specific treatment modalities.
Treatment and Staff
Based upon a client’s initial assessment, the staff develops an individualized treatment plan. The program at Genesis is comprised of individual, group and family counseling rooted in CBT. Treatment is 12-step based and NA/AA meetings are available at designated locations. If a location does not have meetings on-site, it refers the client to the closest nearby meetings
Clients attend several individual and group sessions throughout the week, the amount varying from person to person. On average, clients attend three sessions per week, for several hours each. Treatment is offered during the day and in the evening, to best accommodate the client’s schedule. Co-occurring disorders are also addressed and mental health treatment is available at every location.
Each person is assigned a case manager who will be involved in every step of treatment. In addition to the case manager, the client will interact with properly credentialed staff, ranging from CADCs/CDACs, CASACs and CSWs. Certain locations also have a physician or a LPN on-site as well. Not all of the locations offer outpatient treatment for adolescents ages 13 to 17, but all offer help for adults, age 18 and older.
Extras
Drug screening is available, as are anger management classes, domestic abuse counseling, relapse prevention and parenting classes.
