Established in 2012, Futures of Palm Beach was created by the management of GMH Ventures, a real estate investment company company. Futures provides holistic, personalized residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Located in Palm Beach, Florida, the idyllic environment provides the comforts of a luxury hotel, combined with innovative and evidence-based treatment strategies.
Accommodation and Food
Clients are housed in private rooms or suites that are beautifully appointed. There is typically ample closet space, as well as a sitting area and TV. Common areas are spacious and comfortable, with a piano, swimming pool and lots of areas in which to relax.
Meals are prepared by a private chef and are tailored for individual tastes. Special dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and kosher can all be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
Clients choose between the core and premium tier treatment options. Treatment length is usually 30 days, but can extend longer if needed. Both programs include comprehensive assessment, medical detox if required, two individual therapy sessions weekly, case management, follow up psychiatric and medical services, family therapy three times a week, 13 one-hour CBT-based group therapy sessions weekly, fitness therapy, meditation, yoga and hypnotherapy. Residents also meet with a dietician to discuss nutrition and participate in gourmet cooking classes.
Premium clients receive an additional family session, a weekly massage, two acupuncture sessions, personal fitness training two times a week, three on-site life-coaching sessions and two post-discharge life-coaching sessions. These treatment options are also available for an additional cost a la carte, and clients can select according to their wishes.
Clients with suspected co-occurring disorders receive comprehensive evaluation with a staff psychiatrist to determine diagnosis. Treatment includes the same modalities as the substance abuse and addiction program, with the addition of medication management and tailored DBT.
Therapy focuses on motivation-based relapse prevention, as well as alcohol and drug education. Staff offers 24-hour supervision, and consists of nurses, a medical director, doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, hypnotherapist, LADCs and a dietician. These licensed clinicians work as a team to ensure the highest level of personalized care.
Extras
Paddle boarding and a ROPES course are available as part of weekend recreational activities. These and similar outings are organized to facilitate bonding and a sense of fun.
