Franciscan St. Margaret Health Review
Franciscan St. Margaret Health is one of the largest acute healthcare hospitals in the Northwestern region of Indiana. With a variety of medical services as well as mental and behavioral health programs, FSMH offers a range of treatment options for substance abuse. Clients receive care from a team of experienced medical professionals including detox, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
For those who have not yet completed detox, FSMH offers inpatient medically managed detox services with an emphasis on long-term recovery. Upon completion, clients are invited to enroll in either the PHP or IOP. The PHP is intended for those who need strict structure short of a residential program. Clients attend treatment daily from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Through the course of the day, clients attend individual and group therapy, educational seminars and family therapy if desired.
The IOP is less intensive and clients only meet for half a day Monday through Friday—either in the morning or evening depending on the client’s schedule. The emphasis of the IOP is to provide treatment while still allowing the client to adhere to a somewhat normal schedule. The length of both programs is dependent upon the progress of each individual client which is monitored throughout. All therapies and treatment modalities integrate CBT methodology, however the 12-steps are not integrated into the program.
The staff at FSMH consists of LADCs, LCSWs, psychiatrists and LPCs.

As FSMH is a broad network of hospitals across the state of Indiana, it offers a wide range of additional services including medical and wellness programs such as cancer care, women’s health, orthopedics, pediatrics, surgery, urgent care, emergency medicine, heart and vascular care.
