Treatment and Staff

Clients who are voluntarily entering Four Directions begin their intake process with an initial phone call with a case manager. This is followed by a meeting with a counselor to help determine the client’s potential level of care. If the someone is in need of more extensive rehabilitation, he or she is referred to an outside residential treatment or detox program.

The length and intensity of the treatment is based on each client’s individual needs. Group meeting are offered Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in the Lexington office, Thursdays and Saturdays in Winston-Salem and Mondays and Wednesdays at the Mt. Airy location. Group meetings are usually available in both the morning and evenings.

Counselors at Four Directions use a variety of treatment techniques in both group and individual sessions including CBT, EMDR, grief and trauma counseling, emotionally focused therapy and holistic counseling. Counselors also focus on teaching clients life skills and nutritional education.

The staff at Four Directions consists of both a LPC and a CSAC, and the latter is bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Extras

Although Four Directions does not have an official aftercare program, counselors strongly encourage clients to continue attending AA and NA groups and utilize these communities as outside support systems.
