Treatment and Staff

Individual sessions are usually an hour long each, allowing for privacy and one-on-one attention. With the help of a therapist, clients can address the underlying causes behind their issues and discuss topics such as coping skills and relapse prevention as well as general mental health. These sessions rely primarily on CBT. The frequency of individual sessions depends on the individual’s needs, though they are typically scheduled once a week.
More than 50 different group meetings are scheduled each week with rotating topics which incorporate both mental health and substance abuse focus. These typically include relapse prevention, life skills, coping mechanisms, processing and developing new ways of thinking. Depending on the treatment needed, the number of groups clients attend per week varies.
For those in need of medication for mental health issues, a psychiatrist and registered nurses are on staff. Services include prescribing, administering, monitoring and reviewing medication. Dual-diagnosis clients are referred to a mental health therapist for more intensive help and those with more serious medical concerns or conditions are referred to outside physicians or health facilities.
The staff consists of psychiatrists, Master’s-level therapists, LADCs, registered nurses, recovery coaches and a child psychologist. Group sizes range from three to 12 clients at a time.
Extras
DUI assessments, urinalysis and case management services are all available as well. There is also a residential program available for clients dealing solely with mental health issues.
