Fountain RecoveryFountain Recovery Review

Fountain Recovery is located in the northern California community of Livermore. When it first opened its doors in 2009, it was intended to be a place for people with nowhere else to go. Today, Fountain Recovery is a fully licensed facility with an experienced staff and a variety of 12-step based treatment plans, available in both inpatient and outpatient tracks.

Accommodations and Food

Fountain Recovery’s residential program is very small, with a maximum occupancy of only six people. Their facility is a large house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms—depending on the number of occupants at any given time, residents may have to share with a roommate. All bedrooms are fairly small, each with twin beds and limited closet and storage space. There’s also a living room with a TV equipped with DVR, which clients are free to use when not in group or individual counseling.

There are no meals provided by cooks or chefs at Fountain; however, there is a fully-stocked refrigerator and kitchen. While residents are responsible for making their own meals, they can still put in requests to house managers for whatever groceries they want, which the staff provides at no extra cost.

Treatment and Staff

Fountain Recovery offers three different treatment programs: residential, day treatment and Intensive Outpatient (IOP). Those in the residential program are expected to attend either a 12-step meeting or another outside support group daily. Residents are also assigned a primary counselor who works with them daily through individual and group therapy. Because the maximum number of residents is only six and the staff includes three CADCs, each client is sure to be taken care of.

The day treatment program runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. It consists of two groups in the morning and two groups in the afternoon, with 12-step orientation and relapse prevention. The IOP offers clients daily group and individual sessions as well as educational seminars.

Extras

Fountain Recovery offers an aftercare program for those who have successfully completed one of their programs as well as two sober living environments, Serenity House and Fountain House. The houses provide a drug- and alcohol-free environment, with a house manager on-site. Serenity House also offers access to outpatient programs, access to family programs, the ability to continue work or school and, of course, peer support. Both houses require residents to attend two weekly house meetings and do weekly chores.

In Summary

Although Fountain Recovery is very small and does not have all the amenities of a luxury rehab, it is still an excellent facility with a committed staff and thorough treatment plan. The small number of clients allows the staff to pay special attention to the needs of each individual, allowing for a better recovery.
