Treatment and Staff
Treatment begins with an assessment to determine the necessary level of care and to develop an individualized treatment plan. The three to five month Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) requires nine hours of attendance three days a week, with clients typically having with an hour of individual therapy as needed. Group therapy is offered during the day and in the evening to accommodate various schedules. Attendance at off-site 12-step groups is required but the number of meetings a week depends on the client. This is a program capable of treating co-occurring disorders as well.
After the IOP, the next step in recovery is the standard outpatient level, where clients attend an agreed upon number of group sessions based upon discussions with their primary therapist. Clients also continue to attend an average of one individual therapy session a week. Typically, gainful employment should be achieved by this stage in the recovery process.
The Forrest Hill Outpatient Services staff is made up of Master’s and Bachelor’s-level CADCs, LCSWs, case workers and licensed rehab technicians.
Extras
For those who successfully complete IOP, up to a year of free aftercare is provided. This includes group, individual and family counseling, as well as education on addiction and co-dependency. IOP clients are given the option to live in their own homes or to be referred to local sober living facilities. Transportation is provided for clients in need.
