Treatment and Staff
Clients entering treatment at FootPrints undergo a comprehensive assessment that helps the staff develop the most effective individualized treatment plan to meet their specific needs. If deemed necessary, clients go into the detox process that can last up to 10 days. FootPrints offers a comfortable environment for detox clients, and a medical detox that provides around-the-clock supervision. Upon completion of detox, most clients transition into the residential program.
The length of residential treatment varies depending on the specific needs of the client, with individuals typically staying between 30 days and three months. Residential treatment plans are customized to the individual and utilize a range of therapies including evidence-based therapy like CBT and DBT, and holistic methods and wellness activities. Residents engage in individual and group therapy. The holistic offerings include art and music therapy, movement, yoga and mindfulness meditation. In addition, FootPrints employs an innovated version of the 12-step method, scaled down to the most necessary and effective parts. In addition, the facility offers psychoeducation coursework including stress management and coping skills.
The FootPrints team at Winnetka is comprised of physicians, therapists, addiction specialists, counselors, clinical and program directors, educators and case managers. One of the advantages of such a small client population is the intimate environment and ample personal attention. For clients in need of dual diagnosis support, medication management is available.
