Accommodations and Food
Situated minutes from Capistrano Beach Park, the Silver House is a cozy upscale home that boasts world-class amenities. The ocean is the biggest attraction as residents go on regular beach trips, and the ocean breeze provides constant rejuvenation during recovery. The accommodations are gender-specific, with six men and six women separated into two houses. Both houses offer spacious floor plan, lots of natural lighting, nice furnishings, modern decor, common areas with flat screen TVs and a communal kitchen. The facility encourages a communal and comfortable atmosphere. To this end clients have roommates, and private rooms are available for extra cost. Limited Internet access is allowed, as the staff does not want anyone to feel isolated during treatment.
Residents enjoy a nutritious and balanced menu prepared by the on-site chef. The culinary team works with a nutritionist to create delicious meals that replenish the body with needed nutrients. Clients with dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
Individuals entering treatment must undergo an extensive intake evaluation that helps the staff create an individualized treatment program customized specifically for the client’s needs.
Many clients immediately begin the medical detox program, which can last up to 10 days. Footprints offers sub-acute detox for a wide range of substances including alcohol, heroin, xanax or klonopin. Clients detox in a comfortable environment with around-the-clock supervision.
Following detox, most clients transition into the residential program, where they receive 24/7 supervision. FootPrints recommends a minimum stay of 30 days and many clients stay for up to three months. The facility utilizes a wide range of therapies including evidence-based and holistic approaches in addition to a more effective streamlined version of the 12-step method. Clients participate in individual and group therapy utilizing CBT and DBT, peer group sessions, family therapy as well as holistic activities like yoga and meditation. In addition, the facility offers wellness promotion activities like nutrition counseling, life skills and stress management.
Extras
FootPrints believes that strong aftercare is a significant component to the success of a long-term recovery. To this end, the FootPrints network provides sober living and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in San Clemente. In addition, counselors work with clients to set up continued support through community groups like AA and NA.
