Focus Psychological Associates Review
Focus Psychological Associates is a drug and alcohol counseling center in Media, Pennsylvania, just 12 miles west of Philadelphia that offers tailored treatment options for any substance addiction in an outpatient setting. It performs extensive psychological and drug and alcohol related evaluations and treatment, welcoming both self-referred and court-mandated clients. Treatment and Staff
Focus Psychological Associates has preferred provider status by Delaware County Courts and provide comprehensive psychological and drug and alcohol assessments and evaluations that are recognized by the court system. Evaluations are performed by credentialed evaluators who are experienced in working with lawyers and probation officers, as well as other legal entities.
After a client has received an evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is created to suit his or her needs, often with the goal of avoiding drug and alcohol related convictions. Those with co-occurring disorders are given an additional psych evaluation and dual diagnosis support is available. Referrals can be made for detox and inpatient treatment.
Outpatient treatment at Focus Psychological Associates can include a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. There is formal Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as well as Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). IOP clients meet twice a week for two-hour groups and twice a month for individual sessions. Therapy uses a variety of methods, including CBT, Gestalt, psychodrama and integrative psychotherapy. The medication-assisted opioid treatment program includes administration of Suboxone under the supervision of the medical staff, combined with group and individual therapy. Duration of all treatments depend on the individual.
Staff includes a physician who specializes in addiction and recovery, a licensed psychologist with over 30 years of counseling experience, a forensic psychologist, a certified mediator, three registered nurses, three LSWs and several certified addiction counselors.
Extras
Focus Psychological Associates offers services for other issues not related to addictive behaviors such as martial counseling, counseling for couples coping with an affair or domestic violence, issues related to children, poor school performance, depression, anxiety disorders and legally mandated mediation.
