Fellowship Health ResourcesFellowship Hall Resources, Inc. Review

Fellowship Health Resources, Inc. is a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization that was founded in 1975. Fellowship operates behavioral health services out of of Delaware, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maine, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Rhode Island. The organization offers a Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse treatment in its Georgetown, Delaware location.

Treatment and Staff

The intake process at Fellowship begins with a phone conversation with the facility’s intake coordinator, and is followed by an in-person meeting with one of Fellowship’s counselors. Both of these conversations are aimed towards assessing the client’s needed level of care and if he or she is a good fit for Fellowship’s IOP. If the client is a resident of Delaware, the counselor and intake coordinator help set him or her up with government funding so they can receive treatment from Fellowship free of cost. If clients are in need of more comprehensive services, they are referred to an outside residential or detox program.

The IOP lasts for six months and consists of group and individual counseling. The program meets four days a week for group sessions. The meetings last for three hours and are offered from 10am to 1pm and again from 5pm to 8pm. The group sizes are generally small and range from five to 10 clients per group. The groups are led by one counselor and consist of sharing and education. Although most groups are co-ed, Fellowship offers some trauma groups that are gender-specific. Individual counseling is scheduled accordingly but varies from client to client in frequency and duration.

Fellowship uses the 12 steps and recommends the clients attend outside AA and NA meetings while in the program.

The IOP is also dual diagnosis and has a nurse practitioner on staff who can assist with medication management.

Fellowship’s staff consists of CADCs.

Extras

Although Fellowship does not offer an official family program, counselors can set up private therapy meetings with the client and their family members with the client’s permission.

Fellowship also offers aftercare in the form of weekly relapse prevention groups that clients can attend when they step down from the IOP. Clients on medication can also continue with Fellowship’s medication management when they leave the IOP.

Fellowship also offers Vivitol shots to clients with opioid addiction.

The organization also operates a separate 12-week outpatient program out of its North Carolina offices.
