Family First Support Center Review
Family First Support Center offers outpatient treatment for substance abuse as well as behavioral and mental health issues. The organization has four locations in North Carolina including Mount Olive, Clinton, Laurinburg and Hamlet. Services such as Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) as well as individual and group therapy are offered. All treatment is individualized for each client.
Treatment and Staff
Family First Support Center offers a variety of treatment options for those suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues. While clients are exposed to the 12 steps, they are not a foundation of the program. Prior to entering any of the programs, clients meet with an intake counselor to create a treatment plan.
The 12-week IOP for adults offers treatment three times a week for three hours at a time. The schedule offered allows participants to continue with therapy and monitored support while returning home to their everyday lives. The schedule involves a mixture of group and individual therapy, with topics including relapse prevention, coping skills, healthy relationships and anger management. Support for mental health issues is also offered through therapy. Clients have the opportunity to attend a local AA meeting in town on Wednesday as well (though only at the Clinton location). While AA/NA participation is encouraged throughout treatment, it is not required.
Individual therapy can be used as its own form of treatment. These sessions are usually an hour each and are conducted on a weekly basis. With the help of s therapist, clients can address the underlying causes behind their issues. Medication management is also available to those suffering from mental health issues.
The staff consists of LADCs and a psychiatrist. Group sizes for IOP range from five to 10 clients at a time.
Extras
Additional services such as alcohol and drug education traffic school, employment assistance, intensive in-home treatment and a day program for mental health are also available at select locations.
In Summary
Overall, Family First Support Center offers different treatment options for those suffering from substance abuse. Though treatment is fairly basic, the staff is qualified and includes psychiatrists for those in need of mental health support. For those in need of an affordable and flexible program, Family First Support Center is worth considering.
