Family Center for Recovery Review

The Family Center for Recovery (FCFR) of Lantana, Florida offers medical detox and residential care for adults, adolescents and expectant mothers who are dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Programming includes group and individual therapy that utilizes evidence-based methods along with medication management, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), relapse prevention, 12-step support and aftercare planning. FCFR is owned and operated by addiction psychiatrists who provided individualized care and structured treatment programs.

Accommodations and Food

This luxury facility provides style and comfort in resort style accommodations. Up to 22 clients reside in the elegantly decorated and spacious living quarters. Clients are a mix of men and women, and there are both private and semi-private bedrooms available. Whether a client shares a bedroom is determined during the assessment process by clinical need. The bedrooms are furnished with queen sized beds and dressers, and an adjacent private bathroom. Common areas include a dining room and game room with a foosball table. There is an on-site gym and basketball court, a computer lab, meeting rooms and offices.

FCFR serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on site from a catered menu daily. The meals are healthy and well balanced, with the staff’s focus being the client’s physical health and wellness working in conjunction with their mental well being.

Treatment and Staff

The treatment day begins with a community meeting led by the facility’s clinical director and owner, Dr. Moran, who takes times to assess how the group is feeling and to answer any questions or concerns some may be facing that day. Following that, clients break into smaller groups, some that are gender-specific, and throughout the day there are generally two to four sessions. Group focus covers a variety of treatment topics like relapse prevention, grief/loss, trauma and life skills. FCFR utilizes cutting-edge treatment approaches for their clients on an individualized basis, like VR Therapy, along with medication management programs for stabilization. There are frequent individual sessions with each client’s assigned counselor who works through their specific treatment goal plan together and assess progresses throughout their time at FCFR. With the individualized nature of treatment, there is no set amount of time clients are required to stay in the inpatient program, though a typical stay is usually between 30 and 90 days before stepping down into an outpatient track.

Therapeutic methods include CBT and DBT, Cognitive Enhancement Therapy (CET) along with recreational therapy, mindfulness and exercise. There is an emphasis on care regarding mental health disorders and treatment. MAT is offered in the form of Suboxone for opiate addicted clients, and AA or NA philosophy is also implemented.

The highly experienced staff at FCFR includes triple board certified addiction physicians and Master’s-level clinicians. Accreditations include MD, LMHC, LPC and LPN.

Extras

A weekend long family program is offered in addition to alumni and wellness programs.
