Faith in Recovery Review
Faith in Recovery is an addiction treatment program that uses Christian values and teachings from the Bible, within an all inclusive environment that’s open to all denominations and faiths. The Pompano Beach, Florida based inpatient track includes a number of group therapy options along with individual counseling to complement the substance abuse education and faith based programming. Treatment, which is open to adults who are 18 years and older, includes a medically monitored detox. Faith in Recovery is part of Banyan Treatment Center, which provides 12-step based treatment at several locations throughout the US.
Accommodations and Food
Clients who are participating in the Faith in Recovery program live in the facility located in Boca Raton, Florida as well as the Stuart, Florida facility. Clients live in a clinic like setting that offers semi private rooms with en suite bathrooms, shared lounge areas, ample outdoor space, medical offices, and counseling offices.
Food is served cafeteria style where there are always several options and includes coffee and tea. There are also snacks set out throughout the day.
Treatment and Staff
For those who are in need of stabilization through detox, there is medical care available 24 hours a day to ensure the process is as comfortable and safe as possible. Depending on what they are detoxing from, clients can expect to be in this phase of treatment for up to seven days. After stabilization they begin a regular schedule of programming. This entails up to 25 hours of treatment per week, including faith based group counseling and individual Biblical counseling. The Faith in Recovery program focuses on relapse prevention, alcohol and drug education, coping skills and aftercare planning.
Clients have daily devotionals, 12-step meetings, SMART Recovery meetings, and group sessions that encompass overcoming shame and guilt, anger management and trauma-informed care. Treatment is facilitated by Master’s-level mental health professionals who employ CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) in addition to addressing spiritual principles and faith into sessions.
The staff of Faith in Recovery is led by a chaplain and Christian Program Director, LPCs, LCSWs and behavioral health techs.
Extras
Clients participate in a number of outreach opportunities throughout the community during their treatment. In addition, Faith In Recovery has a therapy dog named Luke at the facility.
