Evoke Wellness Review
Just inland of Miami in Miramar, Florida, Evoke Wellness offers medical detox services to those who are struggling with substance abuse and chemical dependency. In addition to detox, Evoke facilitates group and individual therapy, on-site 12-step support and wellness treatments, all of which are customized to the client’s specific needs. Dual diagnosis support is also available.
Accommodations and Food
The waterfront facility can house up to 40 clients, most of whom sleep in double occupancy bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The residence is a medical facility with over 17,000 square feet of space, though the clients’ quarters are designed to have a home-like feel with comfortable full beds, nightstands and closets—and every bedroom has a TV. The facility is fairly new with upscale amenities such as a music room, gaming rooms and a common area with a mounted TV, board games and reading material.
The meals are well balanced with menus designed by a staff nutritionists and prepared by a professional chef. Meals can be customized to accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions.
Treatment and Staff
There are different detox programs for drugs, alcohol, prescription medications and for co-occurring disorders. Typically clients can stay at the facility for three to seven days, however there is a residential program that is geared towards those who may need extended support in order to stabilize fully. There are medical services provided around the clock and every client’s individualized treatment plan is overseen by the medical director, a nurse and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. There is a high staff-to-client ratio allowing for a great deal of personal attention.
During the stay clients, if they are feeling up to it, they are invited to attend several group sessions during the week and at least one individual session. Evoke Wellness offers in-house AA/NA meetings along with some expressive therapy, like music and art therapy. There are case management services provided so clients have access to assistance when it comes to any legal needs or court proceedings as well.
Clients learn new coping and life skills during treatment and have relapse prevention classes. Common therapeutic approaches include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focused methods.
Staff is comprised of psychiatrists, ICADCs, FNPs and LPCs.
Extras
Some wellness offerings include massage and acupuncture.
