Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle (EBTCS) is an expansive behavioral health group founded in 2002 by three psychologists. Today, the organization provides flexible outpatient care for a variety of mental health conditions in four different specialized programs. Theses include the DBT Center, Anxiety Center, Child Anxiety Center and Eating Disorders Center. The DBT program is designed for individuals with diagnoses such as depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders or attention deficit disorder.
Treatment and Staff
The EBTCS DBT program is available for both adults and adolescents. Before beginning a program, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop individualized treatment plans. Although detox is not available, those in need can get referrals to outside facilities. Treatment programs are available for both men and women with dual diagnosis support built in for addiction and mental illness.
While the specifics may vary, all treatment plans include both individual and group therapy that utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT. Clients are also exposed to 12-step recovery principles. Group sessions cover a range of topics including relapse prevention, case management, coping skills and addiction education.
The specialized adolescent and family DBT program is for those ages 13 to 18. The program is tailored to the clients’ specific needs, but may include individual therapy, family meetings and skills training classes. Therapy must include at least one parent or other adult from the adolescent’s home.
Case management help may include additional services such as referrals for vocational skills training, job placement help and aftercare planning.
Overall, EBTCS DBT program provides flexible and individualized treatment for men and women with addiction and co-occurring disorders. As the name suggests, all programming incorporates evidence-based care and case management all from a diverse and professional staff. For those in the area looking for a clinical outpatient option, EBTCS is a great choice.
