Enhanced Healing Wellness Center Review
Enhanced Healing Wellness Center in Miami, Florida is a holistic outpatient substance abuse treatment facility. Founded in January 2015, it offers a care to men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. In addition to a variety of stand-alone services, Enhanced Healing offers an Independent Living program; a six-month treatment track consisting of three levels, including Intensive Outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient and aftercare.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment begins with an assessment and evaluation to determine whether the potential client is a good fit. For some, the program at Enhanced Healing is a good alternative to residential treatment, for others it follows detox or an inpatient program, serving as a transition back to regular life. However, for those deemed in need of a higher level of care, referrals to can be provided.
The first phase of treatment, the IOP, lasts approximately six weeks and consists of three group and two individual sessions a week, both utilizing CBT. Family counseling is also available as needed. In the second phase, clients attend two group and two individual sessions for another six weeks, in addition to working part time, attending AA/NA meetings daily and going through the 12 steps with a sponsor. The third phase is aftercare, where clients attend one group and up to two individual sessions a week while also working, ideally full time, going to 12-step meetings everyday and continue doing step work with a sponsor. Family counseling may also continue into this phase, which can last up to six months.
Enhanced Healing Wellness Center was founded by Dr. Harry Henshaw, who serves as program and clinical director. Dr. Henshaw has been in the field of addiction and mental health for more than 30 years and is a LMHC and member of the American Psychological Association and American Counseling Association. Additional staff includes holistic practitioners and rehab technicians.
Extras
NA, AA and Alanon meetings are held during the week on site. Supplemental therapeutic activities like exercise, yoga, meditation, acupuncture and music therapy are provided as well.
