Empowerment Therapy Center Review

Treatment and Staff
Treatment at ETC is limited to a basic outpatient program that utilizes traditional therapy-based care After an initial assessment, all clients are placed into one or more groups that include co-ed and women’s-only groups, depending on their individual needs. Typical schedules include one group meeting a week—usually in the evenings—and one individual session.
The Matrix Model is used in substance abuse treatment group, as is Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT and trauma-focused EMDR. More holistic methods are also available as well, including sand play therapy for younger clients. There are psycho-educational aspects to groups as well which focus on the disease of addiction, anger management, parenting and coping skills. Though most groups are for both men and women, the gender-specific groups for women center on trauma in conjunction with addiction.
In addition to the structured programming, the facility also provides weekly breathalyzers, urinalysis tests and follicle testing whenever necessary. The staff at ETC are a mix of Master’s-level therapists, LPCs, LADCs, psychologists and addiction specialists.
Extras
As additional offerings to group and individual therapy, ETC also offers couples and family therapy. There are also co-parenting groups, domestic violence evaluations as well as offender and victim group services. The facility also has an office mascot—a dog named Keegan.
