Embark Recovery Review
Prescott, Arizona’s Embark Recovery offers comprehensive addiction education and treatment for adult men. Programming includes a variety of options, from the 12 steps and spiritual guidance to case management and dual diagnosis services. Embark Recovery focuses not only on helping clients get clean and sober, but also on helping them acquire emotional security, better coping skills and improved life skills. Embark Recovery is technically an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) but clients attending treatment usually live in one of the sober living residences directly affiliated with the facility so its structure is similar to that of an inpatient center.
Treatment and Staff
The initial assessment process involves finding out about the client’s history of drug and alcohol abuse, and health. If a client is in need of detox prior to beginning treatment, detox is available at a separate location in the Phoenix area, also owned by Embark Recovery. A treatment plan is put together that is personalized to each client’s needs. There are daily group sessions that address relapse, triggers, anger management and conflict resolution. Additionally, as clients progress through treatment, there is an emphasis on finding employment, and the staff is able to assist them with this process by offering vocational and employment training.
Treatment is mainly based in the 12 steps and daily attendance at AA/NA meetings is required. Clients with an existing dual diagnosis have access to medication management and weekly sessions with the staff psychiatrists. There are also monthy physical check-ups with a medical doctor.
Evidence-based modalities are employed during treatment. This includes CBT, DBT-S, and expressive therapies and trauma workshops. In addition to the regular schedule of group therapy there are also weekly individual sessions.
Additional therapies offered at Embark Recovery includes the outdoor programs, which are for clients who are medically cleared to participate in adventure therapy. An optional spiritual guidance program offers daily meditation, prayer and reflection as well.
The Embark Recovery staff has medical doctors and Master’s-level clinicians who are LPC, LAC, LASAC and LCSW.
Extras
Embark Recovery has extensive case management services that include aftercare and discharge planning, legal assistance, help with medical and/or dental appointments, and family collaboration.
There are weekly outings for clients to enjoy like movie nights, bowling, hiking and biking. There are also more physical therapeutic activities like rock climbing, and equine therapy.
