Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an initial screening and psychiatric assessment to determine their needs and their history of substance abuse. Those in need of inpatient detox services can do so on-site with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) available as necessary. Once stabilized, they can continue on to treatment.
Outpatient plans are flexible but IOP meets three times a week for three hours per session, generally from 6 to 9 pm—plans typically last for 12 weeks. The program also includes a multi-family group once a week. Both outpatient and IOP plans include group and individual therapy utilizing evidence-based practices, which vary by practitioner. While 12-step participation isn’t required, clients are encouraged to attend peer support groups in their community. Dual diagnosis support is available along with medication management.
The comprehensive staff at El Camino Hospital is comprised of MDs, psychiatrists, RNs, LMFTs, occupational therapists, case managers, psychologists, LCSWs and additional Master’s and PhD-level counselors.

Because both the Mountain View and Los Gatos locations are fully-equipped hospitals, support for any primary medical care issues can also be addressed on-site as necessary. Those who complete a primary care regimen can work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans.
