Dynamic Recovery Center Review
Dynamic Recovery Center is a treatment facility dedicated to the LGBTQ community located in Oakland Park, Florida. Dynamic Recovery was founded by a lesbian couple who are addiction counselors to provide a family friendly community and individualized care for mental health and addiction. Treatment at Dynamic Recovery is offered on an outpatient basis, with a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) along with standard outpatient care. Programming includes the 12 steps, evidence- based models and holistic approaches, and dual diagnosis support.
Treatment and Staff
In some cases incoming clients are in need of an intervention, which the staff at Dynamic Recovery are qualified to provide while working with loved ones. The PHP serves as a good foundation for those who choose not to go into a residential treatment but are in need of structured daily support. This program runs seven days a week for seven hours per day. The next step down is the IOP, a three day a week program followed by the OP, usually once a week paired with community support meetings.
Treatment employs evidence-based methods, medication management and holistic therapies. Common approaches are CBT, DBT and EMDR. There are also relapse prevention classes and coping skills clients learn within a group setting. Additionally clients are provided with a balance of nutrition and healthy eating, exercise and relaxation methods to address anxiety, depression and other mood imbalances. During each step of treatment clients work on communication and self esteem as well.
There are on-site 12-step meetings for clients while in treatment along with referrals to other types of groups in the community. Dynamic Recovery can recommend local SMART Recovery and Refuge Recovery groups, which use a Buddhist approach.
Staff includes psychiatrists, nursing staff, CADCs, case managers and LPCs.
Extras
There are massage, yoga, and acupuncture services offered through Dynamic Recovery. Additionally clients have access to case management programs that can assist and coordinate any vocational, housing or legal needs.
During each step of treatment clients work on their aftercare plan. There are recovery coaches who provide regular check ins with their clients after they leave regular treatment.
The family program at Dynamic Recovery uses the Systemic Family Therapy approach and helps loved ones with understanding the disease of addiction through counseling and educational opportunities.
