With locations in 21 different states throughout the United States, Dignity Health is an expansive, CARF-accredited healthcare organization with a number of different facilities offering behavioral health services. The company was founded in 1986 and is one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country. More specifically, Dignity Health is also the largest hospital provider in California. Among these locations is Dignity Health’s Northridge Hospital, which offers a range of behavioral healthcare services. In addition to acute inpatient care, the facility also has a number of outpatient services.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Because Dignity Health’s Northridge location is a fully-equipped behavioral health hospital, those in need of detox services can do so on-site before continuing onto therapy. Once stabilized, participants can attend either Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) as necessary. The former typically meets for three times a week for three hours a week whereas PHP is more akin to the intensity of standard inpatient care.
In both cases, treatment includes individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Still, the specifics may vary by practitioner. Dual diagnosis support including medication management services are also available. While 12-step participation is not required, it may be recommended in some cases. Groups cover a wide range of topics including addiction as a disease, anger management, emotional processing, trauma support and additional support.
The staff at Dignity Health Northridge Hospital consists of MDs, RNs, psychologists, psychiatrists, LMHCs and additional Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.
Other services include specialized care for adolescents and seniors and crisis intervention as well. As a fully-equipped hospital, the organization also provides a number of primary healthcare services as well. In addition to its location in Northridge, Dignity Health also has hospitals in San Bernardino, Glendale, Long Beach and Inland Empire.
Overall, Dignity Health Northridge Hospital is a broad healthcare facility with flexible and individualized care plans for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Outpatient plans include both individual and group therapy with evidence-based practices, mental health support and primary healthcare. While the cost of program may vary depending on insurance, Dignity Health Northridge Hospital’s outpatient plans remain a strong resource for those in the area.
