Diel Counseling and DUI Services Review
Created in 1991, Diel Counseling and DUI Services offers outpatient services for substance abuse and mental health issues in Effingham, Illinois. Treatment and Staff
Diel Counseling and DUI Services can provide clients with evaluations as well as individual, group and family therapy. Following an initial assessment, an individualized treatment plan can be developed. While detox and residential care are not available directly though the facility, referrals can be made when necessary.
Individual sessions are usually an hour long, creating space for privacy and one-on-one attention. With the help of their therapists, clients can address the underlying causes behind their issues. Topics such as coping skills and relapse prevention are covered, along with mental health when necessary. CBT is used to help individuals challenge their negative thoughts and, as previously mentioned, the 12 steps serve as the foundation of treatment.
Group therapy is offered three times a week. These two hour sessions cover topics like the 12 steps, relapse prevention, coping skills and communication. Family therapy is also available, following a structure similar to individual therapy. These sessions tend to focus more on communication, healthy boundaries and codependency issues.
The treatment team consists of LADCs, with group sizes that range from five to 12 clients at a time.
Extras
As its name suggests, Diel Counseling and DUI Services provides a full continuum of care for DUI clients as well, including evaluations, education, aftercare services, SOS Update Evaluation Reports and SOS Hearing Denial Resolution Services. There is also an employee assistance program designed to assist employees with personal or family problems, as well as an online co-parenting education program.
