With several locations throughout the Los Angeles area, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services is an expansive behavioral health organization that provides outpatient treatment for addiction and mental health. Didi Hirsch’s Mar Vista Center offers counseling for adolescents and families in the Mar Vista/Venice area.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and assessment, counselors develop an individualized treatment plan consisting of individual, group and family therapy rooted in evidence-based practices—including CBT and Seeking Safety. Groups address anger management, coping skills, goal-setting and other recovery-related topics. While not strictly required, clients are encouraged to attend local 12-step meetings.
Because the organization’s primary focus is on mental health, the program can provide ample support for clients with a dual diagnosis, including anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.
Staff consists of LMFTs, LCSWs, CASCs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Additional services include child abuse prevention and educational programs as well as reunification counseling for children and parents. It has a program for court-ordered clients that consists of drug and alcohol education and early intervention sessions. School-based counseling services, crisis counseling and therapy for military families are available as well. The organization also has a wide range of additional programs including residential treatment for addiction and mental health. CalWORKS clients and others referred through state and local agencies are welcome.

In all, Didi Hirsch’s Mar Vista Center offers comprehensive and customized outpatient care geared primarily for adolescents and their families. Therapy is evidence-based with additional support provided for clients with co-occurring disorders. While those in need of more intensive care may want to seek out an inpatient program, Didi Hirsch’s Mar Vista Center remains a strong resource for teens and families.
