Treatment and Staff
The detox at the Essex facility is a medically monitored and can last up to 10 days in some cases. There is a rapid five day opioid detox available, and after the initial assessment by a medical doctor on staff, they are able to determine what the best course of action would be to ensure the comfort and safety of the client. Additionally there may be a need for maintenance medications like methadone or Subutex.
If the client decides to continue on to the residential phase of treatment, which can last up to three months, they are given an individualIzed treatment plan that includes specific evidence-based therapies that would suit their individual needs. Therapies used in treatment are CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing (MI) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness approaches. Staff includes a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Accreditations are LCSW, psychiatric nurses, medical doctors, and counselors who specialize in addiction.
Extras
There is a year long aftercare program that consists of weekly group therapy sessions at the facility. Family therapy and counseling in also provided throughout treatment and after.
Clients are provided with a gym membership and also have yoga classes and guided meditations. Additionally clients are permitted to take long beach walks several times a week.
