Denver Springs is a 96 bed facility that was built in 2018. The state of the art hospital provides clients with spacious, double occupancy bedrooms, and en suite bathrooms. Campus contains an activity room, commuter room, gym with machines and area for yoga, and private courtyards.

Meals are served in the cafeteria three times a day. The food is all prepared fresh and there are several options per meal time. Snacks are set out during the day and there are beverages available at all hours.

Treatment and Staff

This program offers specialized trauma treatment along with evidence-based approaches. Clients are placed into categories that address specific issues. These categories consists of a mental health track, substance abuse and dual diagnosis. In each of these levels of care clients attend daily group therapy, exercise and recreational, medication management and educational programs.

Treatments include CBT, DBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Schema Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and EMDR. Group therapy sessions take place several times a day and cover several common topics. This includes relapse prevention, coping skills, relaxation skills, and stress management.

Other parts of treatment consist of pet therapy, art and music therapy, psychoeducation, wellness, nutritional education, and 12-step support. Trauma focused care helps clients dealing with PTSD, and help unpack the residual impact of trauma related experiences, and are experiencing anxiety or depression or have experienced self harm or suicidal thoughts or tendencies.

Clients in the addiction track of Help for Heroes may also need inpatient detox and stabilization services.

Help for Heroes is operated by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. This includes medical doctors, RNs, psychiatric nurses, psychiatrists, and Master’s-level therapists. There is also a recreational therapist, dietitian and art therapist.
