Denver Springs Adolescent Outpatient Review

Denver Springs is a new behavioral health treatment facility in Colorado. It offers a number of inpatient and outpatient services. Programs are available to adolescents and adults struggling with myriad mental health issues, along with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Treatment includes evidence-based approaches combined with holistic modalities. 

Treatment and Staff

Outpatient treatment through Denver Springs takes place at an additional facility located in Parker, Colorado called Changes. The adolescent outpatient program is for clients between the ages of 12 and 17. This program addresses common issues that young people face, including depression, anxiety, self harm, ADHD and bipolar disorder. 

At the beginning of treatment every client goes through an assessment process. This intake includes a full psychiatric evaluation and individualized treatment plan. The adolescent program offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that consists of group therapy, individual therapy, psychoeducation, and medication management. 

The PHP is a full day track that includes time for clients to continue their schoolwork. Clients attend several group therapy sessions every day. There are also individual sessions held once per week and a number of holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, pet therapy, psychodrama, yoga and recreation. There are also educational programs, nutritional education and guidance and mindfulness training. 

Common therapeutic approaches here are CBT, trauma-informed care and trauma focused groups, Solution Focused Therapy, exposure therapy and expressive therapies. Medication management is also a common element of this program. 

The adolescent outpatient program is overseen by Master’s-level therapists, educator, recreational therapist, psychiatrists, nurses and registered dietitian. 

Extras

Family member of clients receive counseling and psychoeducation along with community referrals.
