Daymark Recovery Services Review
Daymark Recovery Services operate a number of CARF accredited treatment facilities that offer a variety of services. This includes adult inpatient treatment and adolescent outpatient services. The adult residential program is only available at the Guilford Residential Program, which is located in High Point, North Carolina. This program is open to men and women dealing addition and dual diagnosis. There are two levels of care in the residential program at this facility, and treatment includes 12-step integration and evidence-based protocols. The desired end result of this 30 day program is that the clients take hold of their addiction and return of their lives free of the burdens of addiction.
Accommodations and Food
The 56-bed facility is divided into low and high priority clients, and men and women are separated in different sides of the building. Each of the bedrooms are semi-private, but the rooms are arranged so that clients have a fair amount of privacy.
The kitchen staff prepares three meals every day. They also put out snacks throughout every day that are readily available.
Treatment and Staff
The average length of stay in the residential program is 30 days, however, clients can stay for less or more time, depending on their circumstances. There is staff on hand 24 hours a day all year long as well.
The residential program does not offer detox services at this time, so clients who are in need of a medical detox receive referrals to an outside agency prior to admission. Once in the program clients have full days of group therapy and other therapeutic activities. The daily programming varies from one client to another. Individual therapy is at least once per week, or more if needed.
Treatment models include DBT and CBT. Clients receive treatment in a supportive setting that heavily focuses on coping skills, life skills and relapse prevention techniques. In addition, the recovery model offers an alternative approach where clients learn more about their mental illness, and based on their strengths learn how to manage their emotions and triggers.
Clinical staff includes LCSW, LCAS, LPC, medical doctors and nurses.
Extras
Daymark Recovery provides several additional programs, including a mobile medication program, mobile crisis unit, in-home services and step-down outpatient care. Finally, family and couples therapy is available throughout treatment.
In Summary
Daymark utilizes a unique recovery model because it emphasizes that clients may not always have control over their symptoms. However, they do have the ability to control their actions and lives, and here they learn that recovery is ultimately attainable. The whole idea behind this model is that clients feel empowered rather than victimized by their affliction. The intended result is that with their newfound understanding of their illness, they are able to manage their behaviors and have a much healthier result.
