Credence Therapy Associates Review
Credence Therapy Associates is a comprehensive behavioral health facility with two locations—one in Elkhorn and the other in East Troy, Wisconsin. The organization offers outpatient substance abuse treatment programs for adults. All treatment is individualized and evidence based with both individual and group therapy sessions. Treatment and Staff
CTA conducts in-person assessments to determine which level of care is most appropriate for each client. In the event that potential clients require a more intensive program, referrals are given to area detox, inpatient or residential facilities. For those enrolled in CTA’s outpatient program, individual therapy sessions are the primary form of care. Clients attend these sessions once a week for an hour. Since all programs are individualized there is no set duration of treatment so the length of stay varies depending on the goals agreed upon between the therapist and client. There are group therapy sessions available once a week as well.
Treatment at CTA relies on evidence based, holistic treatment methods which generally includes a combination of CBT, EMDR, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Therapy sessions in either group or individual settings focus on relapse prevention, coping mechanisms, anger management, dealing with grief and loss and parenting skills. There is also a board-certified psychiatrist on staff who is available for medication management and psychiatric assessments.
The nine-member staff at CTA includes a variety of therapeutic specialty credentials including Master’s-level LPCs, LCDCs, LMFTs and psychologists.
Extras
In addition to substance abuse programs, CTA also has specialty groups offered for other types of addictions including sex, tobacco, gambling, shopping and food addiction. Individual family therapy is also available, as is couples counseling. CTA can help court-ordered clients fulfill mandatory drug education requirements. There are also Christian counseling services offered though specific therapists.
