Accommodations and Amenities

The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, with a total of 10 beds for women and up to 12 spots for their children. Each mother is allowed to bring up to two kids, four years or younger, with them into the program. Each gets her own room to share with her children, furnished with a twin bed, dressers, closet space and variable sleeping arrangements for the kids. The home features on-site laundry, shared common areas with TV, a dining room and a full kitchen. Throughout their stay, clients are expected to cook and prepare their own meals.

Rules and Regulations

To be eligible, clients must be at least 18 years-old and agree to follow basic rules of the house, which includes submitting to random drug testing, completing house chores, obtaining full-time employment and attending all house programming. Average stays at The Coventry House last for four to six months, though residents are welcome to stay for up to 18.

While in residence, clients attend trauma-informed individual and group therapy, which includes psychiatric oversight and parenting classes. Clients are also required to attend regular 12-step meetings. During the day, while residents are at work, the facility provides free daycare the kids. Case management services are also provided. Clients currently receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), like methadone or Suboxoneare also welcome to attend.

Extras

The facility provides culturally-sensitive counseling and Spanish-language services as necessary. Case managers are available to help clients arrange aftercare and discharge plans once they graduate the program. Clients can also get referrals to other inpatient and outpatient services through Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center ADRC programs.
