Counseling Clinic Inc is a private non-profit community mental health organization that was founded in 1973, in the Little Rock suburb of Benton, Arkansas. Since then, CCI has offered a variety of behavioral health services, including substance abuse treatment programs in five different locations. There are three facilities in Benton, as well as an additional one in the nearby towns of Hot Springs and Bryant, Arkansas. CCI offers Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and a basic outpatient programs for both adults and adolescents.
Treatment and Staff
The CCI IOP is a three-month program that may act as a step down from inpatient treatment already completed elsewhere. During the first month clients meet three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. During the second month, meetings go down to two a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, at the same time and in the third month clients attend on Thursdays only. CCI utilizes 12-step principles, provides CBT and dual-diagnosis services but does not provide detox. Referrals to a 28 day detox and residential program are provided if necessary.
Clients undergo individual, group and even family therapy (if needed) and are screened for substances at random intervals. The IOP clients meet twice a month with their individual therapist, attend 24 group sessions and 12 AA/NA meetings over the course of treatment. These meetings take place off-site for the most part but CCI provides one AA meeting on-site, on Mondays. For those in need of dual diagnosis support, CCI has an integrated approach to co-occurring disorders, utilizing its substance abuse professionals and mental health services.
The basic outpatient program at CCI offers clients a mix of 12 to 16 individual and group therapy sessions. Clients typically have two individual sessions per month, may take part in up to eight group sessions in combination with up to six AA/NA meetings. There is one group session offered during daytime (Wednesdays 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm) and two groups are offered in the evening (Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30 pm to 730 pm).
The CCI adolescent outpatient program—for those ages 13-17—provides after school group meetings and family education group sessions so that adolescents may attend without disrupting their school schedule.
CCI employs about ten CDACs. Groups are limited to 15 to 16 clients per session, apart from Wednesdays which are actually limited to five or six clients, maximum.
In addition to substance abuse services, CCI offers specialized treatment to people experiencing anxiety, phobias, sexual dysfunctions, parent/children problems, attention deficit disorder and many other emotional disturbances.
Counseling Clinic Inc has over 40 years of experience providing mental health treatment and substance abuse services. While CCI may not offer the same type of treatment that a residential facility would, its IOP and basic outpatient program are solid options for those who do not require inpatient. It is the minimal cost however that may be the ultimate deciding factor.
