Cornerstone Clinical Services Review
Cornerstone Clinical Services was founded in 1998 in Lawton, a city in southern Oklahoma, with the goal of helping children, adolescents and their families by providing therapeutic support. Cornerstone’s services focus on behavioral health and resolving situations that would require the removal of a child from his or her home. The substance abuse program provides evidence-based outpatient treatment that follows 12-step principles.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient substance abuse and dual diagnosis services are available to children, adolescents and adults Mondays through Fridays. There is no detox. An individualized treatment plan is devised by the client and their assigned therapist with optional input from the client’s family and based on an initial assessment.
Cornerstone offers group and family therapy for behavioral health treatment, but all outpatient substance abuse treatment services are delivered through individual sessions. There is no group therapy provided, but clients are required to attend at least one AA/NA meeting per week.
Cornerstone employs six therapists, who are LCSWs, and two case managers. A nurse practitioner visits twice a month to prescribe and monitor medication.
In Summary
The substance abuse treatment services offered by Cornerstone Clinical Counseling are somewhat rudimentary. One thing that does set the facility apart is that all of its services are available to individuals of all ages. For those who are looking for help for themselves, their children and possibly even their entire family, Cornerstone may be a good choice. Out-of-pocket costs are reasonable and Cornerstone accepts most insurance.
