Cordova Counseling Center Review
Cordova Counseling Center (CCC) provides outpatient support to adults, children, couples and families dealing with mental health and substance abuse disorders in Pensacola, Florida. It is worth noting, the core of treatment at this facility is individual therapy. As such, group therapy is not available.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at CCC begins with a clinical evaluation performed by a psychologist. Evaluations include services for brain injuries and dementia, anger management, domestic violence and behavioral addiction. Clients seeking substance abuse support are screened for drugs and alcohol. Through the assessment, a client is matched with a therapist that can best address his or her needs. After this an individualized treatment plan is created where clients set goals for recovery. Though each plan varies, individuals typically meet with counselors once or twice a week for 45 minutes at a time. Those in need of support for co-occurring disorders are offered integrated recovery plans with medication management.
There are currently eight therapists who offer individual counseling at CCC. All sessions provide clients a safe and intimate space to openly discuss issues pertinent to their situation. Therapists apply traditional talk therapy, psychoeducation and psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities like CBT. The main areas of specialization offered by CCC’s team are depression and anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, relationship problems, grief and loss, work and career, stress management, addiction recovery, parenting, family issues, weight management, sexual addiction, trauma, ADHD and autism. Clients can invite family members or loved ones to participate in therapy. All sessions are arranged upon request. CCC does not facilitate or utilize 12-step recovery in its curriculum but attendance at outside AA/NA meetings in the community is certainly encouraged.
Staff members include licensed mental health counselors, LADCs and psychologists.
Extras
Aside from the above, CCC also offers reduced rates to local church members and clergy. In order to access these benefits, individuals must be referred by their church or similar religious organization.

Though the facility only offers treatment in the form of individual therapy, those in need of substance abuse help will find all strategies for long term sobriety at CCC highly personalized as a result.
