The Basics
Since 2010, The Control Center, also known as The Beverly Hills Center for Self Control and Lifestyle Management has been offering 12-step based outpatient substance abuse treatment. The Control Center also offers dual diagnosis support and treatment for gambling, shopping, sex and love, Internet, videogame and fame addiction as well as eating disorders. Any detox needs are covered on an outpatient basis or off-site at a nearby inpatient facility.
Treatment and Staff
The Control Center Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), has clients attend a maximum of five days a week, for five hours a day, providing ten group sessions per week. Treatment may last a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 180 days. Clients get to work with four or five different therapists and receive medication management and psychiatric services if necessary. They also receive family therapy when warranted, neuropsychological and weekly drug testing.
The schedule at Control Center breaks down as follows—Mondays clients work on “sense of purpose” and money management group. Tuesdays offer life skills recovery group, family support and acupuncture. Wednesdays are for individual sessions, CBT and personal development group while Thursdays focus on mind-body therapy, case management and a further individual sessions. Fridays are for 12-step meetings, a last individual session and DBT group. Groups focus on topics such as creativity, music, spirituality and family dynamics.
Those clients who benefit in the IOP and progress accordingly may step down to the basic outpatient level of treatment, where they continue to only see a psychiatrist and a therapist and have no further group participation. The Control Center employs three psychologists, a psychiatrist, a pharmacist and reiki practitioner, a dietician, a holistic nutritionist, licensed counselors and an expert in Chinese medicine, acupuncture, Hatha and restorative yoga.
Extras
Holistic treatments such as acupuncture, reiki and yoga are offered to clients, but not required as part of treatment.

The Control Center ‘s outpatient services are more expansive than most. The facility caters to the clientele in its upscale zip code by offering a wide variety of individualized traditional and holistic treatment options. It offers all its consultations for free and does accept insurance. However, when it comes to actual cost of services, prices on par with a mid-range residential rehab.
