Connections Community Support Programs Review
Founded in 1985, Connections Community Support Programs is a large, CARF-accredited, non-profit organization with several locations throughout the state of Delaware. With branches in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties, CCSP offers some residential options however treatment for substance abuse is primarily limited to outpatient care.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, all clients undergo an initial assessment to determine which program would best suit their needs. Although traditional detox is not available on-site, Medication-Assisted Therapy (MAT) is offered by way of Suboxone.
Once stabilized, clients begin an individualized treatment plan that combines group and individual therapy with various psychotherapeutic practices available including CBT. Programs also generally include an introduction to the 12 steps though specific requirements about meeting attendance may vary for court-ordered clients. Basic support for clients with co-occurring disorders is available, as is DWI/DUI classes.
Though varying by location, staff generally includes CADCs, psychologists, LPCs, RNs, social workers and other Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
A large part of Connections Community Support Programs include case management, housing services, counseling and affordable health care— including a mobile dental van that provides dental care to the financially challenged throughout the state.
Support groups for veterans and their families, as well as services for the hearing impaired and Spanish speaking clientele, is also available.

Though relatively basic, the outpatient treatment programs for substance abuse are solid and offer all the necessary tools to begin a life of sobriety.
