Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio Review
Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio is operated by Latinos for Latino families, new immigrants and community members. This outpatient facility dates back to 1981, helping the Latino community on the Westside of St. Paul, Minnesota with substance abuse and mental health treatment. With the growing Latino population in Minnesota, CLUES now employs over 85 employees and more than 600 volunteers.
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient program consists of addiction-focused group therapy. Clients can participate in individual therapy on as- needed basis. Starting with level I, individuals attend bi-weekly sessions for a total of 12 weeks. Level II, the aftercare portion of treatment, is held on Tuesdays from 10 am to 12 pm, for a total of four weeks.
The types of treatment offered by CLUES range from client to client, but may include disease model therapy, bio-psychosocial model therapy, social model therapy and psychodynamic model therapy, as well as relapse prevention. Group topics include 12-step work, anger management, life skills, anger management and trauma. Dual-diagnosis clients are welcomed at CLUES.
Clients are able to discuss the philosophies of the 12-step program during group therapy. In addition, they are highly encouraged to attend AA/NA meetings on their own time. This recovery-based community is a great source of support and serenity.
The staff consists of two LADCs and an LADC intern.
