Compass Recovery Center Review
Compass Recovery Center of Prescott, Arizona offers outpatient treatment based on the 12 steps. Programs are designed to treat substance abuse and gambling addictions. Treatment and Staff
There is the full day program that lasts for about two weeks and includes a number of group sessions along with individual sessions. The step-down program to the full day is the partial day program, which can also be considered an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which runs between three and five days for three hours or so per day. The last track is the standard OP which entails three days a week of treatment that’s mainly group therapy and one individual session per week. This last step is an ideal opportunity for clients to maintain their jobs while still receiving a structured amount of support.
During group and individual therapy clients address common issues like codependency, relapse prevention, communication, anger management, life and coping skills. Throughout treatment clients also attend regular AA and NA meetings and work the steps.
For clients who are in the gambling addiction program, there are four phases of treatment. The initial stage is the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), followed by an IOP and then step-down OP. Similar to the substance abuse track, clients have several group sessions per week and at least one individual session while receiving psychoeducation and working on a transition plan and aftercare.
In addition to a thorough therapeutic regimen clients have access to medication management and regular psychiatric evaluations. Dual diagnosis clients have several meetings with a board certified psychiatrist on staff who puts together a comprehensive plan of medication that an be continued and monitored after the client graduates from the program.
The treatment team includes LPCs, SACs and LCSWs.
Extras
As previously mentioned, Compass Recovery Center clients have the option of residing in one of the sober living communities. The homes are gender-specific and located in quiet, residential neighborhoods. All single family houses, the residences are spacious and comfortable with all the amenities of home.
In addition to traditional and evidence-based treatment approaches, clients participate in a number of holistic methods as well, including yoga, nutrition, and somatic experiencing.
